If you stop the car, you are rewarded. I watched the mesmerizing light show for about an hour when the calf began to nurse. These are the Sandhills of Nebraska, located along a hundred mile stretch of Highway 2. This stretch of road has been called one of the 10 most scenic drives in the country. Since 1984, the Sandhills area has been a designated National Natural Landmark. The Nebraska Sandhills are one of the largest plant-anchored sand dune regions in the world.
