What a view! #Yellowstone National Park in #Wyoming preserves more than 10,000 hydrothermal features - an extraordinary collection of hot springs, mudpots, fumaroles, travertine terraces and geysers. Microorganisms called thermophiles - meaning “heat loving” - live in these features and give the springs their brilliant colors. Grand Prismatic Spring at Midway Geyser Basin is larger than a football field and a highlight for every visitor to the park. Photo @YellowstoneNPS by Jacob W. For those interested in seeing Grand Prismatic Spring from this viewpoint: you’ll need to park at the Fairy Falls Trailhead and hike about a half mile. Parking at Midway Geyser basin takes you to the boardwalks along the spring at ground level. Parking is limited and fills early so arrive early morning or in the late afternoon for the best chances for parking.

@mrssbergie I have not hiked it. I have read it is easy until the last stretch which is supposedly steep. That is the part I am not sure my mom will be able to do

You know what would make it look even better? If some amateur drone operators dropped some 600 dollar pieces of plastic into it ?
