This week, Apollo 11 lifted off on its journey to the 🌙 Moon. In control centers at Goddard, we monitored and operated the worldwide complex of ground stations that made Apollo mission communications possible. This network was charged with furnishing reliable and near-instantaneous contact with the astronauts, from liftoff, to the giant leap, to splashdown. We’re proud of our role in keeping Apollo’s lines of communications open — a task we continue to support with today’s astronauts.

In the first picture, the first thing I notice is a woman in the foreground. It is notoriously difficult for women to get into science now, let alone back then, I’d love to know that lady’s story?

It seems like people who comment “fake” on nasa posts either have profiles of them smoking weed or being in/from Cali. ? Just an observation.
