On May 14th, the Alabama senate voted twenty-five to six to ban virtually all abortions. Less than a month later, the governor of Illinois signed a bill that declares abortion to be a “fundamental right.” “Until abortion is free on demand, without apology, without stigma, without questions, we’re going to have to raise more money to help people, because what’s happening in surrounding states is going to keep going,” said Megan Jeyifo, the executive director of the Chicago Abortion Fund. @the_wacky_iraqi_ what are you talking about? First off numerous children come here unaccompanied by a family member which is a tragic crisis ... what is the administration supposed to do ? Just release them and say good luck kid ! Or some minors are being accompanied by an adult that is not a family member which is a risk to the minor and they need to verify the relationships. Hey at least we allow women to vote and do things here in America!

That we are able to create life it doesn’t mean we need to be slaves of our nature but the decision makers, an abortion is a difficult decision where no one wins, we need to have the right to decide for that nature unlimited... until men can stay at home taking care of children, we have equal pay, healthcare is free and childcare is also provided by the government for free... we give life when you give us help and compromise.

@quesonard what makes you the ultimate moral/cultural authority? Who are you to say that a child should not have the chance to live ? Ha yeah the Obama administration’s talk in immigration was tough but like his presidency rather impotent - he literally said do NOT send your kids here we will send them back - he enabled this crisis we have now and now someone with an actual backbone is doing something about it.

Totally applaud the efforts of Illinois to make abortion a fundamental right. The Red southern states are still fighting the Civil War and are still fighting Roe v Wade.
It’s a proven fact when abortions are available the crime rate goes down because the unwanted children ( who grow up to be criminal adults) are never born in the first place.

It’s pretty amazing to see our little fundraiser for Chicago Abortion Fund in the New Yorker! We need to continually support the organizations like Chicago Abortion Fund. “Significant energy for the fight is coming from ordinary folks who are stepping off the sidelines to contribute time and money.”

@steveo151515 the last administration reunited them with family here until their hearings were held, so it’s not that complicated. What makes you think you are qualified to speak for other people’s “children”? You know they want to be born and unwanted? That’s other level ego.
