This whole month, I've been out at the house on my own with Harlow. Truthfully, it has been an absolute joy, but it has also made working from home a little tough, because camp hours are less than school hours and when she comes home, there is no one else for her to play with. Also, Harlow has all these very high expectations for how we are going to spend our time together— mother daughter baking, going on fancy picnics, getting our nails done, etc. I find myself promising her things that we'll do together in the afternoon after camp and then I have work to get done and suddenly it's dinner time, and I have failed to live up to what she was expecting. "But, Mommy, you promised!!!" That's her new favorite saying. So, the other night, to make it up to her, I suggested we have a "fancy dinner al fresco." "Can we both wear dresses???" she asked. Of course. Then I had her set the table outside while I baked a @redbaronpizza. We might be NYC pizza snobs, but we also love Red Baron. If you bake the pie right on the oven rack, the crust gets golden brown and perfectly crisp. This is what I call a #pizzaparentwin. My teenager have committed to Mother Son Quality Time every Thursday night. Might be cooking a meal together, watching a movie on the couch, going out to dinner, playing cards. Doesn’t matter. No phones allowed. Minimum two hours. Every Thursday! We haven’t missed one! This is our third summer doing this. He won’t admit it but he looks forward to it! Hard to get a 16 year old boy to commit to quality time but it’s been a life saver to our relationship.

@greig85 I have not suddenly turned to the dark side. I used to be a creative director at an advertising agency. I’ve been doing ads since before Instagram even existed. If anything, Instagram followed me here, not the other way around 😘

We have picnics on the front lawn and the kids love it, sometimes we will do both lunch and dinner as a picnic...it’s a win win, less mess in the kitchen and the kids can run around and play making mealtime less stressful!

We love to go to places like a little downtown area in a city with little stores or a metro park and do an ABC scavenger hunt where you have to find things that start with each letter of the alphabet!! It’s been so fun!

I am just so curious, when it's just the two of you, who's taking the photos? They are amazing tho, just can't figure out how you can make them... Are all these simply taken with phone? What do you use to edit them?

@greig85 it’s not like she does ads every 5 minutes, why mess with her source of income 🤷🏻♀️if she’s gotten big enough to have companies wanting to pay her to post then I saw awesome job!
