Anyway, last night I made it, and sat at the counter very happily with @horatia_the_corner_house,  watching the chefs cook, and the gorgeous food as it was prepared for the pass, which of course made us greedily over-order. I have no regrets.  A quick explanation of the dishes (some of the dishes) we ordered: pic 1 is the chargrilled squid with skordalia or really, rich golden garlic-stuffed mash; pic 2 the wonderfully chilli-flecked marinated sardines on toast; pic 3 the nettle ravioli with sheep’s ricotta and sorrel; pic 4, the braised rabbit leg ravioli with porcini butter, a sensation; pic 5 is of the braised violet artichokes with chard and roast garlic; pic 6 the extraordinarily wonderful wood-roasted chicken with n’duja, tomatoes and ham on sourdough toast (I wasn’t going to order this, but I’m so glad I did. I cannot stop thinking about it). And finally, the rum baba with grilled apricots. I also adored, and didn’t photograph, the radish, frisée and caper salad with red wine and anchovy dressing.  The food here is just smile-inducing: both robust and exquisite, and emanating from a very special sensibility.
