Jimmy and Sav, in working with the @nytmag, would see the climb through their lenses. Days spent moving over ground with a pack and nights spent keeping warm are quality regardless of where they take place. A little adversity brings us closer. In March of this year @nolan_smythe was killed in a climbing accident. Sav has been on a path reconciliation with climbing and gravity after her loved one was lost. Spreading a thimble full of his ashes was a step in this process. Perhaps one is a “lifer” when you work through grief by climbing.  We miss you Nolan.  With gratitude to the wonderful people @nytimes for your interest in climbing.
