This celestial looking creature is a Caribbean reef octopus I photographed @medicine_park_aquarium. Like other octopus species, this cephalopod can quickly change color to avoid detection thanks to specialized cells in their skin known as chromatophores. When it comes time to feed, this species will spread its webbed arms out wide, creating a canopy that nets crustaceans, small fish, and bivalves. #octopus #celestial #cephalopod #camouflage #caribbean #PhotoArk #savetogether
