Cozy evening ahead. 🕯 This scene of mice sewing is from Beatrix Potter’s “The Tailor of Gloucester.”

Potter was born in London, England, and developed a love of flora and fauna on trips to the countryside. After publishing the highly successful story “The Tale of Peter Rabbit,” she started writing and illustrating children's books full time.

“The Tailor of Gloucester” is in the Rare Book Collection on Juvenile Literature at our @cooperhewitt, one of many of Potter’s books in the museum’s branch of @silibraries.
