Later this week we will release the next section of the #50YearsInTheField timeline, the 1990s! While many of us spent a good chunk of this decade trying to keep our Giga Pets, Tamagotchis, and Furbies “alive,” OFI and our Founder Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas remained on the ground in Borneo fighting harder than ever to protect and save orangutans and their tropical rainforest habitat from burgeoning environmental threats. It was a very eventful decade and we're eager to share the new timeline with you!
In the meantime, let’s take a quick walk back through the 1980s with OFI Founder & President Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas in celebration of her 50th Anniversary in the field in Borneo working to understand and save orangutans.
