Do you hold your landings? It’s the last thing the judges see, and a strong fully stretched landing goes a long way.
LANDING TIPS
1) Stretch your leg back fully. I’m talking locked knee, tensed muscles, and a pointed toe.
2) The leg tension on a good stretched free leg actually helps you keep steady on your edge, making the overall jump stronger and more solid overall.
3) Arch your back and open your chest. Look up and out. Keep your arms straight to the side of you. The positioning of a landing contributes to the jump too.
4) Even if you land a wonky jump, readjusting to a nice landing can distract from that and make the jump seem better than it was!
5) Get in the habit of HOLDING your landing for at least 2-3 seconds. A total pet peeve of mine is seeing a flash of a sloppy landing position that just moves on to the next thing. If you want your jump to be high quality, you have to finish it off with a quality held landing. Ride that edge! ❤️🔥
