The Japanese language doesn’t have an exact equivalent term, so I took the liberty of making my version of a definition to share it with my community. 色々な場面でのintegrityの欠落を感じることはみんなあると思いますが、最近わたしの中で「もうダメ🙅‍♀️」ってなったのは、お仕事の取引先の方が、わたしに対してはすごくNICEにしてくれているのに(だからわたしも何も疑わないのに)、スタッフへの話し方がガラッと違う… と後から聞かされたとき。気持ちよくお仕事できないならもうNo, Thank You. Recently it’s been brought to my attention that sometimes external people that we work with talk to my staff differently than they talk to me. Their attitude changes depending on who they’re talking to. This doesn’t sit well with me. So, No, Thank You. あと、@veda_tokyo で当たり前に大切にしているのは、講師やスタッフ間でも、先輩とか後輩とか上下関係の意識がないこと。目上の人にはこういう風に話すけど、目下の人にはあーいう風の話すとか。。そういう仕切りってわたしにとってはよくわからない🤔だからそういうの、No, Thank You. At my studio Veda Tokyo, we value equality and it’s important that we treat each other as equals regardless of age, experience, etc. This is somewhat of an anomaly in Japanese culture where a rigid hierarchy governs senior/junior attitudes and use of language. For me personally, I just don’t get it. So, No, Thank You. 社会とは違うかもしれないけど、自分のカルチャーをつくります 🙋‍♀️ わたしの「しっくりくる」に従って。 I guess it’s a little like carving out my own culture. Just following what feels right for me. 人は人。だけど、まずは自分自身が在りたい姿で在ることは、今日からできることだから。 People are people. That’s not for me to change.
