But the most impressive might be what we accomplished on our third and final day. We set out to summit the 3 highest peaks in Flagstaff, AZ all in one day with an added “Murph” element - 100 burpees on the first summit, 200 push-ups on the second, and 300 air squats on the third. 💪🏼 1. Mt Elden: 9,301’ 2. Mt Kendrick: 10,425’ 3. Mt Humphreys: 12,633’ • Starting at 5 AM, and ending in the dark of the night, we succeeded. 🤘🏼 • 12,633’ is my highest elevation ever. 🙌🏼 With the last bit of Humphreys being a scramble to the top, I most definitely felt it. • We hiked 25+ miles and almost 10k of vert, which is essentially a marathon. But up. That’s the most distance I’ve covered on foot in the span of 12 hrs. 🤯 Descending was the worst. • A thunderstorm rolled in as we were descending Mt Kendrick. Raced the lightning ⚡️ on the way back down. A bit of an adrenaline rush. Never done that before! • Due to some radical circumstances, I hiked/ran the last 4 miles down Humphreys alone in the dark canopy of woods with nothing but the light of my phone. Talk about spooky. Not an easy trail to traverse at night. Took a lot of mental fortitude and self talk not to panic at times. Felt like I was back at the @goruck games. 🥲 • My feet have been pretty swollen for the past few days, which is new for me. Plenty of blisters too. Body is just about back to baseline.
