When is was young I have never been interested in ballet. I always wanted to become a circus artist or a gymnast. I just wanted to be in front of an audience. Because my mother saw that I was always dancing around at home and was enjoying music she asked me(when I was nine years old) if I wanted to try a ballet. Already after the first lesson I knew, that I wanted to become a professional ballet dancer. That's what I had been working for ever since.
My main goal for this summer is to stay in shape and be prepared for my graduation year. At the same time I'm really looking forward to meeting new people, training in different classes and visiting new countries/cites and of taking pas de deux classes with @louspichtig who is attending to the same summer programs.
What I wish is that people learn to appreciate ballet and ballet dancers. There are not enough people that do. People don't know how demanding ballet is and how hard dancers train to achieve their goals(maybe we just make it look too effortless hahaha?). Usually when they think about ballet, little girls in pink tutus and a crowns on their heads jumping around in a circle is all that comes to their minds. I know we don't like to call ourselves athletes (we are artists)... but ..... people look what our bodies are doing!
