a morning of organizing and planning - feeling inspired by the change in the seasons light - clear and luminous. gone is that steely blue grey of winter replaced instead with a piercing brightness - with windows open just a crack to let the cool air in - it feels almost like being inside a dream as I sit writing at the breakfast table - feeling the wanderlust spring always brings and jotting down a few recipe ideas in between daydreams - early this morning I clipped a few branches from the first azalea bush just barely in bloom - reminiscent of the Japanese cherry blossoms - they are keeping me company on the table - I feel as if I've all but shaken off the cozy dark and languid pace of winter - finding inspiration in the new colors and textures of New England spring -
