These small plaques are examples of expert Scythian craftsmanship – they depict feline predators and are only 2cm across! Made by stamping gold sheets with punches, lots of identical plaques could be made quickly and easily. They were sewn onto the clothing of a king from the 7th century BC – the choice of image reflects his power.
