i know i have.
i know that sometimes, when i set my expectations high, my chances for disappointment can soar. it’s a fine dance between wanting to do my best and mingling with perfectionism — to the point where it costs me my worth (and my dance shoes?)
it’s hard losing confidence in our own abilities. you can know that you want good things for yourself, and you can know where your intentions lie, but it can be an often toxic spiral of never reaching your goals if perfectionism is an absolute in criteria.

it can be toxic when you can’t find joy and growth in the process because your expectations bring about inevitable disappointment.
