The results of the ultrasound are in and it’s not good news. Miss Cleo has cancer. It’s lymphoma and it’s showing as an assortment of aggressive tumors on her liver and spleen. After nearly a week at the car hospital she’s only a little bit better. The vet told us to take her home and spoil her and said we’d have a few weeks or months at best.

I thought for sure it was going to be good news and I’m actually still in shock. Miss Cleo is so sweet. She meows and purrs and still has her bright eyes. But ever since we brought her home she has been lying in one spot and won’t move unless we pick her up and move her.

I already told Tim that I don’t think I’ll ever have the heart to put her down. We won’t let outside now or else she’ll probably run away and never come back. I think she knows it’s the end, that we are doing our best to give her all the love possible and keep her as comfortable as possible in the short time she has left.

Miss Cleo ? I love you, sweet, pretty girl. I’m going to miss your cuddles and your big green eyes. I’m not ready to say goodbye. It’s not fair that you have cancer. Cancer sucks, it took my grandfather’s life when I was a little girl and terrorizes so many. And now cancer is winning the battle for your life, little girl. Cleo, you’re barely seven pounds, this sickness won’t let you eat much. You’ve always been small, and maybe you’ve been battling this for a long time and I just didn’t know it. I’m so sorry. I wish I could wave a magic wand and cure you. I pray for a miracle but I can see in your eyes that there’s not too much longer. I don’t know where to put all this pain I’m facing lately, but it’s like my heart just keeps growing and letting more love in even though it almost feels like it’s breaking at the seams. ?
