⠀
Robert Bowers, 46, is suspected of storming the synagogue with semiautomatic assault-style rifle and shooting worshipers during Shabbat services. He has been charged with 29 federal counts, including hate-crime and firearm offenses. The victims ranged in age from 54 to 97, and include a husband and wife, and two brothers.⠀
⠀
Bowers, a Pittsburgh resident, expressed hatred for Jews in numerous online rants and made anti-Semitic comments during an exchange of fire with police, according to a law-enforcement official.⠀
⠀
"We know that hatred will never divide us," Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto said at a news conference Sunday morning. "We will get through this darkest day of Pittsburgh history by working together."⠀
