Uber is taking on New York City.⁣

The rideshare company is suing NYC after it decided to impose a year-long limit on new licenses for ride-haling vehicles.⁣
⁣
The city voted for the cap to reduce traffic and help yellow cab drivers who say their livelihoods were harmed by Uber. But the company argues limiting licenses for ride-hailing vehicles will have a negative impact on people living outside of the city.⁣

Some are on New York's side, though.⁣
⁣
"Eight drivers have now died by suicide because of the crisis Uber created," the New York Taxi Workers Alliance says. "That's why Uber drivers and yellow cab drivers from across the city united to win the historic cap on for-hire-vehicles — to put an end to the financial despair, debt, and poverty that is literally killing our brothers."⁣
