The Greenland ice sheet is the fastest melting glacial land ice. Just as worrisome as the increasing sea levels is the darkening of the surface, which will gradually erode Greenland's cooling capability as it absorbs more heat. Together with the melting of permafrost, that would accelerate the speed of global warming.
