I’m on assignment photographing urban coyotes in Chicago this winter, with the help of coyote expert Stanley Gehrt and his team, part of a larger exploration of urban wildlife in North America. This camera is focused on a wildlife corridor in the city—a hole in a fence that coyotes, deer, skunks, rats, raccoons, and even stray cats have been passing through. An infrared trigger is set to fire the camera and three strobes at the moment an animal passes through the hole.
