They did it. We did it. Harlow graduated second grade in her favorite dress and Mazzy graduated 5th grade in her pajamas. Both barefoot. Seems appropriate for distance learning. I feel like Mike and I should have been in the picture because we graduated too. Well, we made it through second grade. Mazzy made it through 5th grade all on her own. You can swipe left to see them on the first day. All dressed up, in the city, eons ago. Just two kids who had no idea what this year had in store for them. The whole school had a closing assembly online. It was just for the students but we watched as a family. I cried. Something about all those kids sitting behind their computers graduating from home, and the teachers trying their best to uphold all the regular last day of school traditions. If you zoom into Harlow’s sign, she made happy and sad faces. She said she felt a little of both. I feel the same. Distance learning might have been tough, but hearing those teachers joyfully greet the class each morning promptly at 9am was a much needed sense of normalcy. Their teachers were absolute rockstars this year. I’m going to miss hearing their voices echo throughout the house. #mazzyandharlow #lastdayofschool
