Signaling autumn with their trailing calls, the elk rut peaks in September, but will run through mid October. Bulls bugle to announce their availability and fitness to females and to warn and challenge other bulls. Visitors have an amazing opportunity to experience their unforgettable calls that fill the landscape. Keep at least 25 yards from elk at all times. During the rut, bull elk can become especially aggressive and dangerous. Keep distance from them, for your safety and theirs. Also, if elk music is not for you, we understand.
