Found in central Africa, the Aubry’s flapshell turtle makes its home in large bodies of freshwater within tropical rainforests. In the water, this species will seek out areas with shrubs and vegetation, which act both as cover and an ideal hunting ground. While juveniles feed on insects, adults take larger prey including fish, crab, and crayfish.
