Sightings have reportedly dropped 15 percent since then, but all that hubbub had an unintended effect: a surge in rat-based tourism. A number of New York tour guides are now stopping off at famously rat-infested locations, while TikTokkers like Kenny Bollwerk are building followings by live-streaming rats around the city.
