arted dance at the age of 5 because my mom wanted me to get out some of the extra energy I had! Who knew it would turn into this! I have always loved dancing and thought it was a fun thing to do, so I started adding more and more dance classes and doing competitions. I loved doing the competitions because it felt like going on tour (especially at age 12) even though we never travelled that far! At age 14 I fell in love with ballet, and I knew then that I wanted to pursue it as a career! Ballet is tough, but that is one of the big reasons I love it…you have to consistently work on it and there is always something to improve. I love being in the studio alone and working on things. I call it my happy place because that’s what it will always be! I can have the worst day ever, but the second I start dancing it all goes away… it’s like it never happened. A lot of times I am ignored by my peers or left out of things…sometimes even made fun of, but in all the times people were not there dance always has always been there (even on bad dance days). I can’t fully describe how I feel when I’m dancing because it is just something so special. It almost feels like I'm flying! It’s a part of who I am and I actually think about it all day! I only hope that I can share this feeling with the audience members. Dance is such a special art form and I have been truly blessed by getting to do it every day! This summer, I want to continue to work on not sitting in my supporting leg and keep working on my petite allegro. Thank you again for voting for me and helping me get to the final round!!
