family arrives tomorrow from Ireland and the west winds brings more family from california on tuesday - it is the start of the holiday season and thankfully the house will not be quiet now for weeks. It is the season of visitors and stories and meals and walks and nights by the fire - and I for one can't wait - this time of year it's easy to focus on the rush and momentum of it all but for me, I prefer to relish the moments spent with friends & family and the joviality of all squishing in together, the conviviality of gathering around the table - a recipe for a thanksgiving meal is up on the blog, follow the link in the profile - on our table this year will be roasted pumpkins stuffed with wild nutted rice (which smells of hay and is reminiscent of the summer fields) - a kale and pear salad with a grainy mustard dressing & a simple cardamom almond apple cake with a dollop or two of crème fraîche and a cup of tea - head to the blog for all the recipes
