This frog’s high pitched, throaty scream used to deter predators earned it the nickname ‘Freddy Krueger Frog’. They can be extremely aggressive towards anything that threatens them and will puff up to appear larger, corner and bite their target using their two front teeth. While these frogs might look funny, they’re actually quite intelligent. During the cold months, they bury themselves underground and wrap themselves in a cocoon of their own dead skin to preserve water until it becomes warm enough to emerge.
