Photograph by @andyparkinsonphoto/@thephotosociety Podcast – A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of participating in a podcast hosted by @mattmaranphoto, the link to which is both in my bio and also on Matt’s own Instagram page. Matt is one of a rare breed of wildlife photographers, one whose claim to be a conservationist and animal lover are borne out both in his behaviour and his lifestyle choices. He is an absolute gentleman in the truest sense of the word, kind spirited and a pleasure to spend time with so if you don’t yet follow him then I can heartily recommend that you consider doing so. We cover all topics during the conversation, the ones with which I am most passionate occur later on in the podcast but if you would like to learn something more about us both, and our stories, our passions and perhaps those things that might confuse, disappoint or even enrage us then this is definitely the best place to do it. Among other things I talk about my passion for working with subjects close to home and so, seeking always to remain congruent and consistent in all that I do I thought it best that I post an image that reflects this passion. This mute swan adult was photographed several years ago at one of my favourite local sites on what has become a rare day in Derbyshire, one where heavy snow falls even at low altitudes. I have long been photographically obsessed with the arched, sweeping curve of these exquisite birds necks, so much so that I thought this image needed little else, give or take some falling snow perhaps to fill the negative space. As always I welcome your opinions, good, bad or indifferent on either this image or the podcast but let me please thank you all again for your continued support, your kindness and the generosity that you so often display when leaving comments, they are always so appreciated.
