Anjanayasana is a perfect antidote to this. _ Day 1 #eatlikeayogi is Anjanayasana _ Like all backbends, this asana seeks to bring energy up the spine and stimulate and internal heat or fire. By activating the quadriceps and lengthening the muscles of the back you can expect to turn on that inner fire. Alignment keys to think about while practicing Anjanayasana— _ *Activate the pelvic floor, draw the lower belly in towards the spine and think about lifting the ribs away from the hips. Avoid hinging in the lower back. *Align the knee of the bend leg with the ankle and do not move past the toes. Root down through the inner edge of the base of the big toe and avoid winging the knee out to the side. *Watch your shoulder alignment. Choose a variation that allows you to focus on external rotation of the shoulders once your arms are raised above your head. Don’t rush or force dropping the neck back. This will happen when the body is ready. *Place careful emphasis on the upper back and the sternum.
