The supermassive black hole in the center of the Cygnus A galaxy is about one billion times heavier than our sun and is seen here blasting out powerful jets of particles roughly 300,000 light years in each direction.
Jets like these originate just outside of the black hole itself and are likely caused by extremely strong and twisting magnetic fields.
