what changed?

I stopped waiting on the world
to know my worth

I stopped chasing words
as if they were my point of entry,
and I stopped walking the narrow path
collectively produced by
ifs and buts

instead,
I cut through the field where the wildflowers grow — unannounced, uninvited,
but home;

home by the way they grow,
with their defying sprout
and tenacious bloom

home by their colours that contrast the green plains,
giving light to the world
like a rainbow born from the earth

you see, because of their everything,
they are beautiful

and so I grew with them ??
