ORCAS! ORCA BABIES!
Last spring I was a guest of the small-boat adventure company @uncruise. With only 50 people on board we had the fortune of changing course and making stops whenever it suited us.
We were in the middle of a lunch when a crew member spotted the massive black and white whales in the waters nearby. The captain immediately dropped anchor and we all rushed from the dining room, leaving half-eaten meals behind.
We stood in awe for an hour as mothers and babies played and swim around us.
One of our guides dropped a hydra phone into the water and over the loud speaker these creatures, the largest member of the dolphin family, filled the air with the clicks and whistles of their conversation. It was a moment that none of us will forget, hearing a mother talk to her baby underwater as they zoomed below.
It’s moments like these when you remember the magnificence of this planet.
Moments like these when you realize your place on it.
We’re here to help each other survive and thrive. We here to take care of one another and the incredible creatures we share the earth with. ?
