These stamps are scratch and sniff. (Please don't scratch your phone, that is not how this works.)
This array of frozen treats was issued in 2018, the first—and so far, only—scratch-and-sniff stamps from the U.S. Postal Service. They're now in our @nationalpostalmuseum's collection. ©USPS; all rights reserved.

I always wondered about obvious warnings on labels , like: don’t drink this bleach... coffee is hot .. like who would drink that stuff? Or who wouldn’t know hot coffee they ordered is hot? But then we see how dense some in society are. so when I read the “please don’t scratch your phone” warning, I knew it wasn’t a joke, but a sincere “heads up”. Smh

I have a book about the history of perfume which has little scratch and sniff panels at the top of the pages. It was given to me in the 1980s, and it still retains some of the scents. Much treasured!

I had to write on every single envelope, scratch and sniff! They smell very refreshing like vanilla and citrus... I still have a tone! They make my day!

Ooo I wonder what sort of different preservation measures the conservators have to take for these? ?? Neat addition to the collection!

@boccecoulter You’ll love this! Remember dividing the stickers each year when they arrive? You’d take all the scented ones! ?

I used these for my graduation invitations and still have some. I've been hoarding them for special mail
