These Italian fire salamanders @parconaturaviva are one of Europe’s largest salamander species, reaching up to eight inches in length. Despite their bright coloration, this species is difficult to spot both on land and in the water, as they are often hidden beneath stones, wood, or other objects. They are most active at night, when they emerge in order to hunt down some of their favorite prey - spiders, earthworms, and slugs.
