A sumptuous cobalt blue inspired by the house where Frida Kahlo was birthed, where she grew up, the house that always remained home, the very place where she drew her last breath. It is infamously known as the Blue House, now formally Museo Frida Kahlo, located in the Colonia del Carmen of Coyoacán in Mexico City. After her death, Diego Rivera who was married to Frida, donated the house and everything within it to be a museum honoring her life and work. It is filled with Friday’s artwork as well as Diego’s and pieces they collected alongside personal relics and photographs strewn throughout each room. The outer walls of Frida’s home were painted a vibrant cobalt blue hence the name the Blue House, the inspiration behind Azul Frida, a richly beautiful ink that is an absolute dream to write and draw with.
