It’s ok if you don’t love your body. Sometimes the pressure to love ourselves can feel overwhelming.

And the truth is, were fighting against unrealistic beauty standards, body types that are trends, a diet industry that profits from convincing us perfectly normal things are flaws. A new mother isn’t even given the grace to recover in a healthy way without conversation about her body and bounce back culture.

I’ve come a long way on my self love journey, and I’d say it’s definitely not a linear journey.

On my bad body image days, I just don’t let my mind bully my body.

We don’t do that anymore. I remind myself of all the pressures. The fact that the beauty standards is unrealistic even for the faces and bodies of it because they get touched up...

I just stop and say, you don’t have to love your body but you can appreciate it.

I sometimes like to imagine I’m like a tapestry, and each mark and blemish is a story of my life.

My scar tells the story of my C-section. The moment Ada came into the world.

My stretch marks - tattoos from mother nature commemorating when my body stretched and grew.

My b00bs - not as perky as they once were - have fed my beautiful children.

My tummy - it’s slightly more stretched than before and my abs are gone. But it was my babies home. And that’s quite a lovely thing I wouldn’t trade.

And suddenly those perceived flaws seem quite magical. ✨💙🙏
