In the case of the @gritgamesocr, I gifted Texas the skin off the palms of my hands, about 10 lbs of sweat, and a lil bit of my soul. I like to look at adversity as opportunity to show up in new ways and surprise myself. Gratitude unlocks it. This mindset is what has gotten me through all the lows & suffering of life. Grateful for it all. Because every single piece of adversity gave me the chance to rise up despite it. To meet the challenge head on. And to prevail. ⚔️ This is what lights my fire. 🔥 And this is what helped shape my mentality this past weekend, where we competed in 105+ blistering Texas heat, and collectively destroyed our hands on the obstacle course (no tape or gloves allowed). 🫣🥵 I finished in second place overall 🥈, and am proud of my performances. I took a first on the strength event, which I knew was in my wheelhouse. Second on the obstacle course, with little to zero obstacle experience (I love them, because they’re basically puzzles we solve with our bodies 🤓). And was near the top of the rankings in the running events, which demonstrated solid progress with my running (even though I cooked). 🙌🏼 Impressed by all the other athletes who showed up and threw down! Spent a lot of my time chasing @krisrugloski, who is a hell of a runner and overall athlete. 👏🏼 Congrats to my teammates @calypsosheridan, @adam_hawes , and @mira_runs_fast_ish for putting their grit and hard work on display. And our coach Ryan @geigercoaching for supporting us! Love my team. 🫶🏻 And a big thank you to @the.coach.kenny and all the @gritfitnessocr volunteers and judges who helped put the event on. 🤝🏼 Grateful for the chance to see what I can do. 📷 by @imagesbyjack Gear by @goruck」8月16日 11時27分 - carlywopat
