One cages you up behind bars of your own installment, while the other knows no bounds. One beckons with comfort, security, and “logic”, while the other whispers of discomfort and unknown, but also the promise of possibility. Which do you choose? The battle is daily. It seems that most of the world succumbs to self preservation. It’s easy to play the human game. Eat, work, sleep, procreate, poop, repeat. Prey to our own biological impulses and neurochemical designs. Few are able to separate the self from their machine. To understand the mechanisms of neurotransmitters, the fear we label as reason, and the imprisonment of societal norms. The war I feel within is my own constant struggle to break free. Free from the noise, free from the walls of my own mind, and free from my human encapsulation. There are things that are known through lifetimes of experience & perspective, and these are used to curate truths to act upon. Guidelines and rules. The fallacy here is that we can only fathom that which we have witnessed or seen ourselves. It is nature to act on our own truths, but crime to impose them on others. Perspective is formed off personal experience, which means accuracy and expanse is about equal to that of a single grain of sand. You think your grain is all there is. When in reality, there’s an entire beach of it, an ocean, a planet, a universe, and more. I’m not sure if it’s possible to ever see it all, but the first step is in trying. So. What do we do?
