Happy #sharkweek! The tiger shark gets a bad rap (it’s known for eating just about anything, including other sharks), but @ナショナルジオグラフィック photographer Brian Skerry says it needs our empathy too. “We’re killing over 100 million sharks every single year,” he says in his #TEDTalk. “I didn’t want to continue to portray sharks as monsters.” Here, he shows a 15 foot (about 4.5m) tiger shark swimming with little fish to make her look less threatening and more relatable.
