Day 7 #LetsGETFlexyIn2015 is Upward Facing Dog. Deceptively simple, this pose sets up the alignment and neuro-muscular coordination for almost all backbends. In other words how you enter and repeat Updog every day in your practice and in every vinyasa sets up your alignment for deeper backbends. So take your time and work on healthy anatomical structure now. Keep the lower belly drawn in, lift the spine up and out of the pelvis, create space between the vertebrae, engage your back muscles to support the spine, lift the sternum and draw the shoulder blades down.
