My Happy Place: Under the Sea ? Swipe right to see the video ➡️ I want to share something personal with you. I was brought up scuba diving, I started learning at the age of 12 and it's been a huge part of my life ever since. I remember diving in tropical waters in my teenage years and being surrounded by an abundance of soft corals, glowing brightly in the turquoise water. It mesmerised me ? I still LOVE diving and enjoy it thoroughly - the wildlife I've seen on this trip has been incredible ?? However I also find it upsetting the more I dive. In short: the oceans are dying. As every year passes, there is less coral and marine life. I see it every time I go down. And it honestly breaks my heart. I cry just thinking about it ? We have had huge global coral bleaching events the past two years and are predicted to have these every single year into the future, due to global warming, until it's all gone. Last year alone 30% of the Great Barrier Reef died. The largest living structure on earth, one of the seven wonders of the world. Gone. ? If we continue at this rate the most complex and diverse ecosystem on our planet is going to be obliterated in a matter of years. My children won't get to see and experience the wonders of the marine world which I have, and that saddens me deeply ? I am so desperately passionate about this and I don't want to lose hope. Please look into the issues affecting the ocean. Namely plastic pollution, global warming and over fishing ? We live on this earth for free. Looking after the planet is like paying our rent. Let's take responsibility for our actions so future generations can enjoy the beauty of our home. There is no planet B, let's look after this one ? #livingconsciouslycrew #stregismaldives
