This farm fresh salad is a small miracle. Just two years ago finding organic greens would have been nearly impossible in Mysore. Romaine, green leaf lettuce, red baby cabbage, fresh basil, mini cucumbers, radishes, celery, tomatoes, red onions, topped off with pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and macadamia nuts all fresh roasted. Apple cider vinegar, olive oil and a dash of sea salt for dressing. All vegetables came from Nature's Nectar which sources what they call English vegetables from their farms to lots of upscale hotels in India. Last year they opened the most amazing organic store in Gokulam with all sorts of greens like these. To be sure it was safe to eat I literally gave the vegetables a bath. Check it out on snapchat for the before and after to see me in a towel giving the veggies a bath. And then on Persicope for when the veggies were all laid out drying. ? One of the things that I love about Mysore is that being here cultivates an appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. I love my green juices and I would normally take the availability of a fresh green salad for granted. The satisfaction of a healthy meal is one of the basic blessings in life. Nourish yourself.
